The narrative draws from authentic records of the horrific events perpetrated by the Japanese forces during the Nanjing Massacre. A small band of civilians takes refuge in the Lucky Photo Studio, dodging the relentless violence, and are compelled to aid a Japanese military photographer by developing his film as a means of staying alive. In a twist of fate, they come across photographic proof capturing the grisly acts committed by the army in the city.
