In a future Japan where low birthrates have caused children to become highly valued yet carefully watched, the figure of Santa has been outlawed as a threat. On a snowy December 25th, middle-schooler Kazushige Sanda, a descendant of the legendary Santa, faces an unexpected challenge when his classmate Fuyumura confronts him to plead for help in locating her missing friend, Ono. “Santa, please find my friend,” she begs. Determined to safeguard children from the adults who seek to control them, Sanda resolves to embrace his heritage as Santa and take a stand.
